Every spring, the Pennsylvania FFA Association invites Pennsylvania FFA members to learn more about the process of interviewing and serving as a Pennsylvania FFA State Officer during the State Officer Candidate School (SOCS). The current Pennsylvania FFA State Officer Team will host junior and senior FFA members at SOCS, held in conjunction with the four regional PAAE meetings. Members who attend their Regional SOCS Meeting will be given a SOCS manual with helpful information as they consider running for a state officer position.
Members who are interested in registering for their Regional SOCS should speak with their agricultural educator. The 2026 Regional SOCS dates/locations are:

Gold Toe SOCS:
All State Officer Candidates who have submitted a completed application by the annual deadline of May 1st will be invited to attend the Gold Toe SOCS Conference comprised of virtual components and in-person components held in Harrisburg, PA. Candidates attending Gold Toe SOCS will be provided with opportunities to practice the entirety of the State Officer Interview and Selection Process through both virtual and in-person rounds. Participation in Gold Toe SOCS is voluntary for all FFA State Officer Candidates. All expenses for Gold Toe SOCS are provided by the Pennsylvania FFA Alumni and Supporters.
The goal of Gold Toe SOCS is to provide all State Officer Candidates with an equitable practice opportunity and access to constructive feedback as they prepare for the interview process in June. A team of Part State Officers, Past State Officer Candidates, and other industry professionals/alumni/supporters who will not be participating in the actual State Officer Interview process conduct practice interviews with the goal of supporting all candidates in their growth and development. Attendees at Gold Toe SOCS will be presented with opportunities to connect/form relationships with their fellow candidates and participate in premier leadership workshops facilitated by members of the Gold Toe SOCS team.
